On Saturday, October 7th, 2017, beginning at 19:00 h, I will give a recital at the Bulgaria Chamber Hall in Sofia. Bulgaria Hall is the home to the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra and the main concert hall in Sofia. The program will feature five works from the modern repertoire – or, rather, four major works and an outsider – linked by the invisible thread of magic, mystery and mysticism: a masterpiece of expressionistic suspense, the spectral chords of Murail’s magic mandrake, Scriabin’s purest musical ceremony, a forgotten colossus brought back to life, and a tale by Edgar A. Alexander Scriabin competition and centenary

This summer I was awarded the First Prize in the piano competition “Alexander Scriabin” celebrated during the Mozarteum International Summer Academy 2015 in Salzburg. This event focused monographically on the music of Alexander Scriabin on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his death. The competition took place on Tuesday, August 4 at the Grosses Studio of the Mozarteum University, and the award ceremony was held on Friday, August 7 at the same venue followed by a concert performed by the three prizewinners (Jin-Hyeon Lee, Yunus Herrmann and myself).

Also as a tribute to the great Russian composer, I also recently performed Scriabin’s complete piano sonatas in two recitals at Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. I am currently seeking to arrange further performances throughout the world. Should you be interested in having the complete cycle performed at your institution or venue, please contact me and I will be very pleased to discuss the format and details of the concert(s).

Preisträgerkonzert at Mozarteum Grosser Saal (August 23, 2013)

In the summer of 2013 I participated, for the fourth consecutive year, in Ya-Fei Chuang’s piano masterclass at the Mozarteum International Summer Academy in Salzburg, Austria. Each summer stay in Mozart’s birth city during these last years has been an unique, incomparable experience – two weeks of masterclasses, concerts and competitions in a community of the most talented teachers and students arrived from all over the world, interspersed with impressive sunsets by the Salzach, night walks in the picturesque streets of the old town, and excursions into the gorgeous neighbouring mountain landscapes of the Austrian Alps.
