Alexander Scriabin competition and centenary
This summer I was awarded the First Prize in the piano competition “Alexander Scriabin” celebrated during the Mozarteum International Summer Academy 2015 in Salzburg. This event focused monographically on the music of Alexander Scriabin on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his death. The competition took place on Tuesday, August 4 at the Grosses Studio of the Mozarteum University, and the award ceremony was held on Friday, August 7 at the same venue followed by a concert performed by the three prizewinners (Jin-Hyeon Lee, Yunus Herrmann and myself).
Also as a tribute to the great Russian composer, I also recently performed Scriabin’s complete piano sonatas in two recitals at Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. I am currently seeking to arrange further performances throughout the world. Should you be interested in having the complete cycle performed at your institution or venue, please contact me and I will be very pleased to discuss the format and details of the concert(s).

I had the great honour of being awarded the First Prize and the Special Prize to the best performance of a modern work, the latter for my performance of Pierre Boulez’s Sonata No. 2 in the final round. (more…)
